Not a real naturist yet but curious about it after my friend has tried it with her au-pair family in Germany she is staying with. I understand it is so much more common in Germany than here. Why is that?

We go to a naturist campsite in Sweden every year. We also look for solitude in nature. There are opportunities everywhere in Sweden, you just have to avoid official bathing areas.

Hello to Sweden!

Why exactly it is so much more common here in Germany I´m not quite sure on; i guess in general the taboo about nudity isnt as serious as it is in other places. Especially in East Germany, where nudism was very popular in the former GDR, it´s still an everyday thing. I guess while germans are rather stuffy in everyday life, thats the one place where they all unwind- even if some are still a bit narrow-minded even there.

Sounds cool. Where in Sweden do you go? Yes I know we have some beaches and campings here in Sweden and will try that this summer hopefully.

This year we are going to some wild places like Uddevalla, Lennatsfors, Töcksfors, Langflons, Tossjön, Vännern, Vettern, maybe camping at Filipstad and Olofström. There are 9 naturist campsites in Sweden.
